2012 ABCD Pilot Project Grant Awardees Announced

The Arizona Center for the Biology of Complex Diseases (ABCD) is proud to announce the awardees of the 2012 Pilot Project Grants in Complex Diseases. Three groups performing cutting-edge, trans-disciplinary research on complex disease-related themes were chosen for funding:

Nicholas Breitborde, PhD (Psychiatry) and Amelia Gallitano, MD, PhD (Basic Medical Sciences, College of Medicine – Phoenix)
Does a genetic pathway for memory influence the effectiveness of cognitive remediation for treatment of psychotic disorders?

Lalitha Madhavan, MD, PhD (Neurology), Scott Sherman, MD, PhD (Neurology) and Clara Curiel, MD (Dermatology)
Induced pluripotent stem cells can model the link between Parkinson’s Disease and Malignant Melanoma

Richard Vaillancourt, PhD (Pharmacology/Toxicology) and Todd Camenisch, PhD (Pharmacology/Toxicology)
Impact of high fat diet and arsenic on metabolic syndrome
